This website is a point-of-contact for people interested in work on historical horse-human relationships. My interest in the soldier-horse relationship had been ‘brewing’ for some time, but I started to explore it in my M.A., and then developed this with my PhD research into the soldier-horse relationship during The Great War. Soldiers and their Horses: Sense, Sentimentality and the Soldier-Horse Relationship in The Great War, was published by Routledge in 2020.
